[Marine] Lybub
Lybub is a megaflora first discovered upon entry into Tidix-c II's atmosphere, it is visible from the stratosphere due to its massive size and grouping habits. Emerald green and slightly translucent, this large flat plant has developed to become extremely efficient at producing oxygen. It hasn’t been seen to flower, but it may have an incredibly long life cycle.
In addition to being massive floating platforms, there are hollow pink roots on the underside of the plant that release excess oxygen via small bubbles that travel down and out of the roots. This produces a "boiling" effect around the plant, though not heated, the bubbles are continuous but not forcible. The roots are also home to many of the planet’s smaller inhabitants, they are strong and don’t sway in the ocean current easily, making great homes. The life forms that live amongst the roots seem to benefit the plant in some way, as plants with more inhabitants seem to be even larger and deeper green, but it is unknown how their relationship is mutually beneficial.
Full of nutrients and vitamins, Lybub also serve as food for some of the larger species of fauna found closer to the surface of the planet's oceans. More careful studying will be needed to fully understand the role of this flora within the planet’s ecosystem!
