Search for the Woodland Ghost

The Twilight Carnival was in full swing at the Harbor. Twilight loves the holidays and the good feelings it brings. Some things was being celebrated in a different way then in her home town of Aberion. But Twilight was excited never the less. She was walking around the biggest busiest area of the Harbor. She was taking in the bright lights, the decorations and the different food smells. She was suppose to be scouting for gift ideas for Kesha, friends and co-workers, when she ran into booth outside City Hall. The ARC lab was trying to sign up volunteers to find the elusive Woodland Ghost for their studies. Twilight walked over and grabbed a flyer from one of the ARC employees. As she read over it she thought to herself “This should be easy I’m a experienced hiker and if I can get Cinnamon to join with her expert Botanist skills we will find one in no time” With a smile on her face she folded the flyer and placed it in her pouch, then turned grabbed a pen from the employee that handed her the flyer and signed her name on the sign up sheet. Twilight ran over to her sister’s house as fast as she could before Cinnamon was recruited to some one else’s team. Twilight knew Cinnamon was over at her sister’s house helping with the craving ornaments out of wood. As Twilight gets closer to her sisters house she hears the sounds of machines coming out of the garage. When she enters the garage she is met a breeze of wood dust. Twilight begins wiping her face as Kesha exclaims “There is extra goggles on the counter over there” As soon as Twilight finishes she puts them on. Cinnamon asks “ I thought you had a ton of shopping to do?” “I did. I’m hear to speak with you.” Twilight responded. Twilight then takes the folded flyer out her pouch and hands it to Cinnamon. “Oh I heard about this. I’m still deciding if I should join because you could spend weeks searching during the short growing season and not find anything.” Cinnamon explained. “ But with my knowledge of the trails and your skills, we could totally get that prize money. And we can split it” Twilight said excitedly “You know what it should be fun” Cinnamon said “ I want to help!” Kesha exclaimed. “Of course you can come along” says Twilight. After all three Xero cleaned up the wood dusty garage. They went to Twilight’s house to look at her maps and formulate a plan. Once the plan was made twilight went through her hiking gear grabbed some satellite phones, flares, water bladders, snacks and some knives and a backpack in case putting the specimens in the pouch causes damage to the mushroom or causes an allergic reaction in someone’s pouch. They waited till night time to start walking the trail. It took 5 hours of walking on the forth night till Cinnamon noticed a sign. It was easily missable to someone less experienced. It lead them to a small hill and one side of the hill contained the entrance to a den covered but a bit of vegetation. Inside the abandoned den was so many Woodland ghosts. They decided to take about a 1/3 of what was in the den so they have a chance to will regrow. The Xeros got some extra Christmas shopping money and the ARC got their research specimens.
