[Survey] Happy Anniversary

Andromeda sits at her desk, pen and paper sitting in front of her, her eyes trained on the family photo that sat angled at her. The dappled pelt shone softly in the lamplight as they shook their head to bring them back to where they began. They took a paw and pushed the writing utensils to the side, instead picking up her headphones and placing them in their ears, then pulling the microphone down from the lifted state it was in. Normally they sat like this for work, but instead they chose to make a gift.

A few taps on the screen and she was back up on her recording software. She taps the button and begins speaking into the microphone, the bit of greying fur on her chin brushing the mic guard, "Happy anniversary my dear Frankie. It's an important milestone for us and…even if I tried I couldn't get down the feelings I have for you on paper. So I'm going to record it, in case something ever happens to me, or even when someone's out of town, you can listen to my voice whenever you need reassurance. Levi's grown now, our little man is so successful and I can still remember the day we met, how sweaty my paws were on our first date, but there you were, handsome as ever, having just gotten off work with your ears still tied up." They take a soft breath with a small smile.

"How instead of a fancy dinner I took you to the late night food truck, we sat on the pier and talked for hours in the starlight. Your patient and loving nature even now captivates me every time I look at you. I remember every twilight carnival we visited, and you never saw that it was in fact you that I would watch, I would always stay on your left so you wouldn't stumble into anything. Every day I want to tell you how amazing you smell, how soft your fur is, and how perfect your paws and tail fit into mine. Like a perfect puzzle."

"When we finally made it official, we did the paperwork for our domestic partnership, it was the third happiest day of my life. My first? Meeting you. My second? Seeing our son look up at us for the first time, if only we knew he was going to be the reason we're both greying, eh? The amount of fur I vacuumed up from the office," She laughs to herself, "I love you Frankie with every fiber of my being, I love your scars and stitches, the way your face lights up when you're excited, the way your eyes crinkle when you smile. The way you comfort me when I'm unwell, and you show the world a kindness that many ignore. How someone like you chose someone like me, I would never understand but that doesn't mean I'm not going to try every day for the rest of our lives. Even when we're old, when your eyes have failed and my voice is gone, I'll still take you to the ocean's edge and we'll remember the dreams we had. With every lap of water on our toes we'll find our peace together. I love you. Happy anniversary, and hopefully for many years to come."
