[Survey] letter to a friend

A sigh escaped Mudball, the chair below him making a soft creak as he sat down at his cluttered desk. Empty water bottles and miscellaneous computer equipment had to be pushed aside to make room for the empty piece of paper that now lay in front of him. He found it hard to form words, to come up with something worth writing, so he started out slow.

Dear Vampire … 

Yeah, that sounded right. That’s usually how people start letters.

How’ve you been, man? I saw the pictures you sent me of you and Stevie. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. Let me know when you go to visit next time, I’d love to check out Torini. I’ve heard a lot about the boardwalk and the sweet bread there. Sounds like a good time. 

Mudball paused for a moment, looking up to the ceiling in thought. What else? Oh, yeah! An idea finally came to him, and he began scribbling away at the paper again.

I’m not doing too bad myself. I got a job at my uncle’s place delivering food. I’ll make sure to bring you some next time we meet up. I finally took up streaming, like you suggested. It’s complicated, but I think I’m getting the hang of it. It’s fun to just be myself and play some games. I’ve been playing this really cool RPG recently. It’s really cool, I’ll text you about it later.

Another pause to check his phone.

Letting his pencil fall to the desk, Mud stuffed the somewhat blurry photos of the two boolews (and one of himself) with a handful of stickers into the envelope. He also snuck in a few more items, trying his best to use up most of the envelope space. Dried fungi, animal teeth, cool rocks, and a recipe for his favorite mushroom soup. Vamp had been asking for that last one for a while. 

After everything was nice and sealed, Mud pushed himself out of his chair and made his way out of his bedroom and out to the mailbox. Hopefully this one didn't get lost on the way to Harbor.
