New codes, more mysteries

A big splash of cold water ripped Fenrir out of his sleep. 'Hey sleepyhead, I thought we were gonna look at what you found?'. He rubbed his paws in his eyes and tried to focus his still blurry vision on the edge of the beach, it was Avi. She waved at him again 'come on you promised it was good!'. The hammock almost twisted when he tried to sit up but he managed to stop it just in time 'all right all right, is Levi already here?'. Avi who in the meantime had come out of the ocean shook her fur dry and shrugged, 'haven't seen him yet'. 

'Oh you're awake, and Avi is here as well great!' Levi was already standing in front of the paper covered wall and had a small notebook in his paws filled with scribbles. 'I didn't want to wake you, so I just started' he enthusiastically said while showing them his notes. Avi and Fenrir looked at each other and laughed. 

The three of them sat down at the kitchen table sipping on some boolow juice while Fenrir started talking about his findings. He told them about how he at first couldn't find anything, but then his compass started spinning like crazy and he saw a big metal hatch hidden in the bushes. While talking he of course made sure to use its paws in all kinds of ways to show the crazy compass and how big the hatch was. He told how he had to climb down an old rusty ladder and about the big metal room he found, 'it was filled with papers, notes and books, floor to ceiling'. He might have been exaggerating a bit but he got the point across. 

'So that's why you chose to add this fancy new wallpaper to your house' Avi pointed at the wall of notes and laughed. Fenrir shrugged and smiled 'I wanted to see it all at once, hope it helps guide me to my next location'. Now it was Levi's turn to talk, he pulled out his notebook and pointed out the things he had discovered. 'Several of the papers and notebooks that aren't in code talk about an ancient or lost city, you know the places they talk about in books' he proudly pointed at a little drawing of his vision of an ancient city. Levi suddenly got up and ran to grab a piece of paper from a side table, 'I also noticed that some things were written mirrored, so I might have snuck into your bathroom and used the mirror there to decipher it'. Fenrir looked at him 'wow little guy I'm impressed, you did that all by yourself!' he patted Levi on the head 'you're a quick learner, your moms should be proud!'. Levi quickly continued 'the mirrored notes talk about a treasure of immeasurable value hidden deep within the city and that only the best will have a chance to find it'. Fenrir stood up and put his paws on his side 'luckily I am one of the best' and Avi bursted into laughter. 

After a while they figured out that most of the other papers were written in either one of three different codes, one seemed like some old language, one looked like it had some type of math base almost like it was written by a computer and the third one seemed like pure madness and scribbles without any logic. Fenrir scratched his head, 'well I might know someone mad enough to help with this third one and maybe I can find out about the old language in the Harbor library while I'm visiting him'. Levi put his paw in the air 'maybe my mom can help with the weird numbers one, or maybe she knows someone'. Fenrir agreed 'Frankie might be able to help or know someone, give it your best!'. They all looked at the papers one more time and finished their drinks, 'one step closer to the answer!'.
