[Survey] Ziggy's Summer Journal

"Summer is both the best, and the worst, thing to happen. It's wonderful for research, as certain plants and animals bloom and come out more often. It's wonderful for fun, as pools get busy and lots of events happen. What it's not fun for, is the heat."

"What's especially troublesome is that my air conditioner has recently broke. I've got some repair folk coming by today to fix it, but what makes things worse is I've drank ALL my ru berry juice just trying to cool down!"

Ziggy had decided that the best way to distract himself from the suffering of the heat, which was worse with a broken air conditioner, was to journal out his thoughts. Writing that letter about his Ru Berry garden had been more relaxing than he previously expected, so he decided he'd journal things out like personal letters from time to time.

He was currently sitting by the sliding glass doors in his living room, the ones that led to his garden.

"I've watered my plants as much as they need, so at least *they'll* be okay, but I've been considering taking several cold showers.. this heat is exhausting! Today is a particularly nasty heat wave, most xeros I know are staying indoors with their nice air systems or heading to the pool with their buddies."

"I have to stay here though, due to my broken air conditioner I have to wait for the repair xeros to get here in about an hour. Maybe I should get central air installed..."

He tapped his journal book with his pen, deep in thought as he tried to focus. Writing was never a problem, but with this heat it was hard to focus.

"Staying hydrated is key in a heat wave, cold water at times like this is very important for the body! I, of course, drank up all my juice instead of water.. not very smart!"

He sighed, putting his pen between the pages and closing his journal, he placed it on a small table next to the recliner chair he was in.

"Should probably get some water myself, instead of just writing about it."

He stood up, stretching out his arms over his head. He then shook his arms a bit, stretched out his legs, and sighed. He'd definitely have to think about that central air system.

He walked into the kitchen and over to his fridge, pulling out a water bottle. He then grabbed a cup, some ice, and poured himself a glass of water.

He stuck a straw in it, placed it on the kitchen island, and went back to grab his journal.

He then walked back, sitting on one of his stools before taking a couple sips of his drink.

He then placed down his journal, opened it back up, and began to write again.

"If you look back at this, future me, remember to drink more water!"

He chuckled to himself, he'd probably not even look back. He'd mostly just write, finish, and permanently move on.

It was definitely worth a shot though!

"Anyways, cold water with ice is the most important thing to be drinking during any heat, especially a heat wave like this one. Certain Xeros are adapted to heat better than others, but I believe even they should remember to drink water during times like this."

"Swimming is also a fun past time, I wish I could be doing some of that today.. maybe once my air is repaired and I'm cooled off, I'll go out for a swim."

"I should get a pool for my backyard, now that I think of it. That's an amazing idea, hopefully I remember to write it down somewhere besides just my journal!"

He placed down his pen, quickly getting up and walking over to the fridge. He then wrote 'pool' on his fridge white board. 

"Hopefully future me remembers what that means..." He mumbled to himself, ears twitching.

He scrunched up his nose a bit, "Apparently I also need to remember to take out the trash..."

He shook his head, walking back over and sitting down at his journal again.

"Beaches are nice too, no clue why I haven't mentioned em! Walking on the soft sand is rather nice as long as it's not scorching hot... Which.. it is today, so! That's unfortunate."

"Regardless, there's plenty of ways to keep cool! Thinking about all of these is kinda helping me feel cooler myself! The repair xeros should be here in a few minutes, gotta stop journaling and be prepared!"

He put his pen between the pages and closed his journal, taking a few more sips of his drink.

After all this, he was definitely planning on taking a long, cold shower.
