Vesper's Library Trip

Libraries were both the best and the worst thing that has ever happened to them.

Here they were, surrounded on all sides by thousands of books.. and they couldn't pick any to read.

Oh the HORROR, the AGONY.

They'd been in the manga section for about twenty minutes, flipping through random books in an attempt to find one that sparked their interest. So far, they'd had no luck.

Finally, they moved over to the fiction section, but most of what caught their attention were books they'd already read before.

They flipped through the pages of some new additions to a series they used to read ages ago, but they just couldn't be convinced.

They decided to move to the non-fiction section, and looked over some books about Kogiis. They were their favorite creatures after all, one of these books was bound to interest them, right?

The only problem? They knew all of this already, from late nights surfing the web in the peak of their fixation.

In their backpack, their Common Kogii plush, Strudel, sat there disapprovingly. At least, he was disappointed in Vesper's mind. He was of course, a non animated stuffed plush, and could not sit there disapprovingly.

They grabbed a book on Ascadon's out of curiosity, and moved over to one of the lounge chairs.

They placed their backpack next to them, opening it a bit and pulling Strudel out until his head poked out of the bag.

Then, they got comfortable.

'River Ascadon's are a large amphibious animal that spends the majority of its time in river shallows and other watery areas in the Kiah Rainforest. It's a predator that will eat anything that can fit in its mouth.'

They squinted their eyes at the description, wondering how it's digestive system also made it immune to poisonous prey, what was the point, then?

They liked the sail on its back, they'd probably look for more information about this species when they got home to their laptop, which they had forgotten to bring with them.

The Albino Ascadon particularly interested them. The creature was absolutely stunning, they'd never seen something so pretty that also looked so.. weird.

They closed the book, standing up and grabbing their backpack, slinging it over their shoulder with Strudel's head still sticking out of it.

They went back to the non-fiction section, keeping their book on Ascadon's while also grabbing a multitude of books on other species. the most notable books they grabbed were about Beebles, Teropitas, and Volans. They'd also found some books about Alonas, and Boolew, and had grabbed a couple of Kogii books as well to fuel their interests.

They checked out all the books at the front desk with their card, and were given a fancy felt bag to carry them in.

It'd definitely be a long night of research.

During their walk back home, they'd stop and snap some photos of random plants and such they'd notice. They were an avid photographer, and the little camera charms on the zippers of their backpack were more evidence of that.

They had a very fancy camera, but it wasn't the newest model. They were currently saving up for it, and were on track to have it in the next few months.

As long as nothing came up, or they didn't go on a random serotonin chasing shopping spree. They had to be more responsible.

They didn't need to think about that right now, though. Right now, all they were thinking about were their books, their future research, and what they'd cook for dinner tonight.

It's not uncommon for Vesper to take a well deserved trip to their favorite library in Torini. However, it's also not uncommon for them to get overwhelmed by all the wonderful reading choices.
