[Survey] Arc Survey 018
Ziggy felt comfortable in his own fur. He understood that others liked to dress up, of course he did. He saw how some of the other Xero acted, how they liked how it made them feel like they were on top of the world, giving them that boost of confidence they lacked without their favorite jacket or their favorite bag. How their signature pink necklace or red bracelet gave them comfort when they felt lonely, reminiscent of the ones who gifted them those delicate pieces of jewelry just because it reminded them of their xero.
He noticed how some like keeping up with the trends, always buying the newest, most expensive clothes and shoes, the prettiest dresses because they were made ‘just’ for them. He observed the way they always bought the best of the best, making sure that it was within the current style or trends. The way they always made sure that the clothes looked good on them, never appearing less than spotless in public. How they obsessively checked themselves in mirrors and windows, wanting to make sure they never looked bad in any angle, wanting to always be the best version of themselves they could be.
Ziggy also saw how some refused to follow along with the previous Xero, actively working to look the exact opposite of them. Wearing mismatched clothes such as a bright neon pink jacket with a mustard dress and sports cap. He heard about how they bought everything sizes bigger than they needed, the clothes hanging off their frames and blowing with the breeze, and their smiles when they got back absolutely covered in grass and mud when they went out to play and hang out in the forest, relishing in those moments of happiness and freedom that only they seemed to appreciate.
He also noticed how others liked wearing comfortable lounging clothes. A soft brown yarn sweater knitted for them by a loved one, a comfortable hoodie worn in through the years and frayed at the edges thanks to constant use, a paint splattered shirt they seemed to always use during their crafts time, even a patched up leather bag always carried over their shoulders when out and about foraging or exploring, constantly touched as if the owner wanted to reassure themselves that it was with them.
He saw the comfort those outfits gave them, making them feel better within their own space as well as outside of it. Ziggy saw all of these things. And yes, he may be comfortable in his own fur, needing no fancy outfits or shiny jewelry in him when he needed to go out and do his duties, but he also understood that while others may not absolutely need to wear those objects either, they actually liked and appreciated the extra layers that gave them the confidence to be themselves among strangers. The memories and feelings that some of those pieces of cloth carried were powerful, enough so that it made others feel as if their loved one was with them, even if not in person.
