[Survey] Solstice at the Crimson Cove

‘Fenrir are you awake?’ Ikko peaked into one of the windows at the crimson cove but saw no movement. She looked around, maybe he was away for a bit? She was pretty sure they had agreed to meet today to organize the special winter bonfire in the Crimson Cove this year. A few years ago while sitting at the fire in the cove during the solstice the setting sun hit the water in the cove to not only give the beautiful colors that gave the place its original name but also to create an amazing display of colors and waves on the walls. After seeing this phenomenon they decided that every year they would create a bonfire and invite all their friends to come and see this spectacle. 

Ikko had walked into the water, it was a bit colder this time of year but the water was still pretty nice. She looked at the little critters swimming around enjoying the shallower waters and smiled when a small Boolew came up to her. ‘Hey Ikko! Sorry I had to do some groceries, I kinda forgot that after returning from my recent expedition’. It was Fenrir, he was carrying a big grocery bag and waved at her. ‘So did you already have breakfast? I got some Torini sweet bread to share’. 

After having eaten the bread they started talking about their ideas and what had to be done. They decided to do a potluck so everyone could bring food they loved and they could all share together. They talked about the games they could play while waiting for the sun to set and where they could get a karaoke machine and a big screen so they could sing songs. Ikko grabbed a piece of paper and started sketching some invitations while Fenrir spewed out even more ideas for activities like a picture stand, cocktail bar and glitter tattoos. She looked at him while he said that last one and laughed ‘Glitter tattoos?’, he nodded convinced. ‘Why not? It's fun!’. 

They got their invitations printed and divided the list of addresses on Owai-6 and dropped the rest off at a post office. Fenrir would do B’Haddu and Harbor and Ikko would go to Arberion and Zae’ka, at the end of the day they would then meet and do Torini together. 

That night at the campfire they talked about Fenrir's most recent adventures, he told Ikko about the mysterious notes he had found and how he was now deep in a rabbit hole trying to figure out where to find the lost city of Delphthys. While she showed him some tricks she had learned from some scientist at Arc to make fire change color by adding different types of powders or liquids onto it. ‘So you work at Arc now?’ Fenrir asked, ‘oh no, I was just there helping out’. ‘Still figuring out what you want to do huh?’ he smiled and looked at the fire ‘no worries you’ll find it’. He heard her take a deep breath ‘yeah, you're probably right’. 

‘10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…’ the sunlight hit the stone sea arch at the entrance of the cove and reflected on the water turning the cove a stunning reddish hue while reflections of the water created waves of colors on the walls. Everyone stared in awe, it was truly something amazing even though it only lasted for a short time. They all celebrated till late at night, or well you could basically say it was early in the morning when the last guests went home. Ikko laid down in the hammock while Fenrir just dropped himself in the sand, ‘that's what I call a successful Solstice’ he said while yawning. Ikko nodded while closing her eyes as they both fell asleep.
