1. Silverback Gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei)
After bonobos and chimpanzees, gorillas are the closest relatives to humans (Their DNA is about 98% similar to that of humans)!
2. Fire Salamander (Salamandra salamandra)
The fire salamander has few natural predators, due to the toxins in its skin. These toxins can sicken or kill predators, as well as the liquid spray it produces when threatened.
3. White Rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum simum)
The majority (98.8%) of the southern white rhinos occur in just four countries: South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Kenya. They are the only of the five rhino species that are not endangered!
4. Luna Moth (Actias luna)
The Luna Moth does not have a mouth, and therefore cannot eat. This means it will only live for about one week, with the singular purpose of mating!
5. Sulfur Tuft (Hypholoma fasciculare)
The sulfur tuft little yellowish mushroom that often grows in dense clusters. Eating it can result in gastrointestinal upset, temporary paralysis and vision problems.
