Our household usually has more recycling than trash, this is usually a problem because our recycling is picked up every other week instead of every week. We buy items from bulk food stores or in large bulk quanitities - such as rice, flour, nuts, etc - to cut down on the packaging that ends up in the trash. Most of the packaging ends up in the recycling or reused. Large rice bags can be repurposed to resuable bags. Flour bags are paper and can be composted.
