We compost daily any vegetable scraps, coffee grounds, or egg shells into our backyard tumble composter. I also have a pet rabbit, so the waste he produced can be composted instead of put into the trash. We then use the compost for our garden during the warmer months to grow us fresh vegetables, such as tomatoes, peppers, spinach, lettuce, berries, and flowers for local pollinators. It's wonderful in the summer to share the garden space with other animals who need food just as we do. It gives us healthy and fresh vegetables and reduces the plastic and carbon emissions from food from the grocery store.
