Another thing I do to help the environment is using my local library! I go to my library at least once a week to check out all kinds of books and go to community programs. When I was younger, I'd often buy books that sounded interesting and read them later. However, I'd end up with a lot of extra clutter from books that I got bored of and didn't read, or books that I ended up not liking. Then, I would declutter and buy more books later.
Nowadays, I always read a book at the library first. If I like it a lot or want to annotate it, I will buy it later. This prevents me from buying books that I don't need and reduces overconsumption.
