My city has its own recycling processing plant, and once a week they come by to collect as part of the garbage collection. Recycling has to be cleaned, but not separated since they’ll do that at the recycling plant. While the inside of the lid says not to bag the recycling, that’s to deter people from using regular trash bags, and my household makes sure to use recyclable grocery bags to contain the recycling.
