X-125: Beedle
Being one of the first of his subtype known to exist, Beedle spent most of his early life comparing himself to what he saw in others: difference. Though other Hollow Xeros have appeared since and now wander in his midst, Beedle still can't help but feel like somehow he doesn't belong.
Beedle resides just outside Aberion (the large tree city) in an underground network of caverns that run deep beneath the Jurupa forest. Though the caves provide him with shelter away from the sun (which he loathes) and a roomy apartment all to himself, there isn't much in the way of good food or festivities. Because of this, Beedle makes a point of wandering over to Aberion at least once a week to take part in the culinary celebrations and to stock up on raw goods for his kitchen at home.
While he tries his best to socialize well with his peers, Beedle struggles with his self-esteem and worries that others may find his sticky skin and inky black eyes repulsive. He tries to mask this insecurity with humour (and sometimes sunglasses) but often ends up falling prey to his own anxious thoughts when he's alone. He keeps a blue boolew plushie named Wormi by his side most nights to hug and hold close when he doesn't feel well. When he feels happy, the bioluminescence in his skin and fur glows noticeably brighter - and when he gets flustered or excited, sometimes even the horns along his back and tail emit a glow.
Beedle's main hobby is entomology, specifically studying all of the different kinds of underground insects he finds in the caverns. He keeps a logbook with detailed coloured drawings, diagrams and write-ups of everything he's discovered so far and adds to it whenever he gets the chance. Living amongst some of these bugs in order to study them, Beedle discovered that when given the right environment, the bugs he calls roommates also symbiotically double as bioluminescent strings of lights throughout his living space - and for some reason, although Beedle typically prefers dark spaces and hates the light, the dim glow of the bug lights just feels like home.
